The MechaniX Auto Shop is hiring a mechanic helper in Hamilton, ON for a permanent, full-time position paying $37.00 per hour, 35 to 40 hours per week. This is a physically demanding, on-site role in a noisy, dusty shop, with morning, evening, weekend, and on-call shifts, plus overtime available. Responsibilities
- Move tools, equipment and other materials
- Signal safety procedures to other workers and to the general public
- Help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed
- Clean machines and immediate work areas
Requirements
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in repair, specializing in motor vehicles
- Comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, plus bending, crouching, and kneeling
- Able to work under pressure and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Organized, reliable, and a strong team player
