The MechaniX Auto Shop is hiring a tire technician in Hamilton, ON for a permanent, full-time position paying $37.00 per hour, 35 to 40 hours per week. This is a physically demanding, on-site role in a dusty, noisy shop environment, with early morning and evening shifts, weekend work, and overtime available. Responsibilities
- Add or replace hydraulic and transmission fluids
- Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed
- Change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of automobiles, trucks or heavy equipment
- Provide on-site services
- Repair and balance tires
- Replace oil, air and fuel filters on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment
Requirements
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- Specialization in commercial vehicle wheels and tires
- Basic security clearance
- Comfortable bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Flexible, reliable, and a strong team player
- Hindi, Urdu, or Punjabi language skills considered an asset
